This image was shot at the weekend. It is not a mirror shot. My good friend Norm Dunk shot this in my studio.

I am making progress with my web site and feel confident it will have a new and improved look within the next two weeks.

I first got interested in photography when I was only seven years old. Though it is fair to say that I have been shooting seriously for the last 20 years. My penchant is for portraiture, though I do commercial work as well.

I shoot exclusively with Nikon cameras and Nikkor lenses. In the studio I use a Bowens lighting system and use two Nikon SB-900s when on location.

My web site http://www.jameschristiephotography.com is somewhat work in Progress. I’m not happy with the way it looks and over the next few weeks I hope that it will look significantly better than it does at present.

I have just started my own Photography business – James Christie Photography. I’m originally from Edinburgh, however I have spent more of my life away from Edinburgh than in it.

I have been commissioned by http://www.edinburghguide.com  to photograph the Edinburgh Fringe 2009. I’ve just received confirmation of my accreditation as a Press Photographer from the Fringe Press Office, so things are moving in the right direction. I have been in touch with a number of artists/actors/performers who will be at this year’s event and they have agreed to set aside time for photo shoots. I am excited about this as I was awarded by the Metro Newspaper last year for my work on the Fringe 2008.

My work was featured in a showing at the National Media Museum, in Bradford, last year for 6 months.
